Challenges
Needed to promote cross shopping and a sense of community in a project of such massive size.

solution
An "entertainment island" was constructed in the middle of Phase I that created a community-gathering place including theaters, restaurants, a food court, a music store and a fountain.
Phases II and III also received feature entertainment islands and well-frequented big box retailers

results
96 percent occupancy level.
Donahue Schriber was the first power center developer to realize the need for entertainment to be incorporated into tenant mix, now an industry norm.
The entertainment islands have increased hours of center operation and new tenant types have been incorporated, therefore improving economic return of center.
One of the largest power centers in the country.
